RoHS Compliance The RoHS directive (EU
Directive 2002/95/EC) becomes valid on 1 July 2006 in the member states of the
European Union. Its aim is to reduce a total of six substances from Electrical
and Electronic Equipment (EEE), thereby contributing to the protection of human
health and the environment. Although RoHS is a European Union (EU) Directive, manufacturers of EEE outside Europe must also abide by this legislation if the equipment they produce is ultimately imported into an EU member state. The RoHS directive restricts the use of certain hazardous substances commonly used in the manufacturing of electronic equipment and requires producers of electronic equipment to reduce the concentration of these hazardous materials, by July, 2006, to proscribed levels by weight. Weinschel Associates aims to minimize environmental impacts due to our products and processes by systematically considering environmental issues during product design. To the best of our knowledge, the products presented in this catalogue comply with the hazardous substance restrictions imposed by the RoHS directive and are suitable for use in RoHS-compliant systems and assemblies. ![]()
